Upcoming Events in March and April
Hello, Piano Families!
I have a couple absences coming up that I need to alert you about. Some of them won’t affect you, depending on when your child has a lesson.
My family will be out of town the Thursday and Friday before spring break (March 13-14). Rather than trying to make up all those lessons, I will be discounting March tuition to account for that absence. If you are a Thursday or Friday student, you will pay $60 (for the 30 minute students) or $75 (for the 45 minute students) for March.
Additionally, my mom is getting a knee replacement and I am going to California to help her during the first weekend in April. Unfortunately, this means I will miss another Thursday and Friday (April 3-4). Because it’s so close to Area Achievement, I will offer three makeup times to any students who don’t want to miss that lesson on Saturday March 29 all day or April 1-2 from 6:00-8:00 pm. For those who are okay to forego that lesson, I will discount April tuition as well (same amounts as March).
I have 11 students who I know for sure are participating in Area Achievement. If your child still wants to participate, please let me know in the next two days. All levels are welcome.
Here is more information for those participating:
Southwest Chapter Area Achievement Days will be on Saturday, April 12. Students will perform two memorized pieces for an adjudicator between 8-noon @ Western Wyoming Community College, rooms 1002&1003. Parents can sit in on the performance if the student prefers to have them there (though the rooms are too small to accommodate more than a couple visitors). Your child’s ten minute slot will be assigned a week before. There will be an Honors Concert by judge’s invitation at 2:00 pm- Sweetwater Music Keys 2724 Commercial Way. The cost to participate is $15 per student. Please include this in your March or April tuition.
Last but not least, just a reminder that our recital is Monday, May 19 at 7 pm at Sweetwater Music Keys. If students want to play a song outside of their method books, they need to bring in their sheet music no later than their first lesson in April.
Thanks so much, everyone! I know that was a lot. March and April are going to fly by and the end of the year will be here before we know it!
Sincerely,
Katie Davies
